Although the world is a beautiful place, it sure is busy. Even on the days we attempt to set aside time for ourselves, there’s always the chance outside chores can arise. On our busiest days, it may feel as if we can’t keep our own feet on the ground, or our head on our bodies. Unfortunately, this is pretty common.
We live in a day and age where it has become a struggle for so many people to find a sense of calmness. There are distractions around every corner, which can be pretty hard to avoid. This reality makes it a significant challenge to remember how to work through feelings without outside sources. Fortunately, there are solutions- and they’re more accessible than you think.
Many ways to keep calm are within arms reach-literally. The trick to finding calmness is held within your own body. That’s where our stress is stored, and that’s where it needs to release from. Here is a brief reminder on how to reconnect with yourself, so you can find the ways to work through any moment of chaos.
Breathe In, Breathe Out-
Breathing is something that is easily overlooked. We don’t notice each inhale, and we don’t acknowledge every exhale. When we find ourselves in a stressful situation, our breath can get trapped like a bubble in a closed off tube.
So, when you find yourself becoming overwhelmed, take a few moments to breathe. Inhale through your nose, exhale through your mouth. Consciously do this until you can feel a gentle heat start forming within your body. Let the ends come off the tube and let that bubble flow.
